“S”
By Michael Curley
Sitting silently, sulkily, sipping Starbucks special
Sometimes surprisingly subtle sensations surface slowly
Softly, simply, sensuous, so sensationally super, so stunningly . . STOP!
Show some sense.
Show some sobriety.
So sad, so much satisfaction suppressed
So sane, so stable, so set, so strict.
Stymied, straight-laced, scuppered, safe
Socially safe, sit straight!
Salarymen singing songs, sake-soaked, suit-stained
Secure, so senselessly, stupidly secure
Sanity suspended
